Campus Nature

TCU has a beautiful canopy of trees! In March 2023, the Arbor Day Foundation named TCU a Tree Campus Higher Education Institution for the seventh year in a row. Since 2020, TCU has been an active member of the nationwide Campus Rx Nature Network.

We’re excited about these groups focused on the nature-rich areas on TCU campus:

  • Garden Frogs, led by Kim Rahebi, Health Sciences PhD student

  • TCU Outdoor Programs, led by Emily Tumilty, TCU Coordinator of Outdoor Programs

  • TCU Tree Advisory Committee, led by certified arborist Erik Trevino, TCU Director of Landscaping and Grounds.

  • Frogs in the Forest, led by Jessie Farris, Science Education PhD student

Undergraduate and graduate students have conducted research focused on campus nature and the effects of community-based nature activities on student mental health.

The TCU community is focused on sustainability practices as well — read about TCU Sustainability to learn more and to get involved!
